Coal gasification for power generation: A Green Path to Convert "black gold"

Preface

Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" strategy, coal gasification power generation is becoming an important direction for the clean utilization of coal. Through advanced gasification technology, coal is converted into clean combustible gas and drives gas generator sets to achieve efficient power generation. This not only improves energy utilization efficiency but also significantly reduces pollution emissions.

I. What is coal gasification power generation?

(1)Coal gasification power generation refers to the process where coal reacts with air/oxygen and water vapor in a gasifier to produce combustible gas (syngas), which is then purified and fed into a gas-fired power generation unit for power generation.

(2) The main components of this gas are:

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Hydrogen (H2)

A small amount of methane (CH₄) and nitrogen (N₂)

Calorific value: approximately 4 to 6 MJ/Nm³, it belongs to medium and low calorific value gas.

One cubic meter of gasification gas can approximately produce:

0.45 to 0.5 kW.h of electricity (kilowatt-hours /kW.h)
